颛顼乘龙至四海
“颛顼乘龙至四海”雕像由灰色花岗石制成,通高8.5米,颛顼头戴羽冠,手执玉钺,神态自若。他驾驭巨龙,乘风破浪,直向云霄,遨游四海。这尊巨雕,既向后人显示了颛顼改革原始宗教,促进社会发展的功德,又寓意了濮阳市的发展腾飞。
The statue of “Zhuanxu Traveled around the Four Seas by Dragon is made of gray granite. It is 8.5 m high. Zhuanxu wears a feather crown and holds a jade battle-axe in hands, looking calm and at ease. He drove a huge dragon through wind and waves, flying in the sky and traveling around the four seas. This huge statue shows the achievements of Zhuanxu who reformed the primitive religion and promoted the social development and implies the development and rise of Puyang.
据《史记·五帝本纪》中记载:“黄帝崩,葬桥山。其孙昌意之子,是为颛顼帝也”。颛顼十岁时,协助东夷族的首领少昊治理国政,二十岁时登上帝位。颛顼深谋远虑,一生功绩卓著,他“绝地天通”改革原始宗教,规定男女有别,确立父系制度,观天象、制历法,严禁近亲婚配,从“群帝”得“百药”以医万民……成为继炎黄二帝之后,对华夏文明形成和发展做出重大贡献的中华人文始祖。
According to the Biography of Five Emperors in the Records of the Grand Historian, “the Yellow Emperor died and was buried in the Qiaoshan Mountain. Then Zhuanxu, the son of Changyi, the grandson of the Yellow Emperor, succeeded the throne.” At the age of 10, Zhuanxu helped Shaohao, the leader of Dongyi nationality to govern the country. At the age of 20, he succeeded the throne. Zhuanxu was foresighted and made great achievements in his life. He reformed the primitive religion, stipulated the distinction between men and women, established the patriarchal system, observed the astronomical phenomena, formulated the calendar, strictly prohibited consanguineous marriage, gained “one hundred medicines” from the Emperor of Five Directions to treat his people, etc. He became the ancestor of humanity and Chinese civilization who made great contributions to the formation and development of Chinese civilization after the Yellow Emperor and Emperor Yan.
《大戴礼记•五帝德》载颛顼:“乘龙而至四海,北至于幽陵,南至于交趾,西至于流沙,东至于蟠木。动静之物,大小之神,日月所照,莫不祗励。”
According to Virtues of the Five Emperors in The Book of Rites by Dai De, “Zhuanxu traveled around the four seas by dragon. He reached Youling in the north, Jiaozhi in the south, Liusha in the west and Panmu in the east. All objects and creatures on earth, all deities, the sun and the moon all worshiped Zhuanxu with respect.”
